India Post to acknowledge C N Vidyavihar’s feat

Sheth C N Vidyavihar is set to join the premier league of institutions which have received special recognition from India Post by way of dedicated stamps and envelops in their names. A special Rs 10-cover depicting the educational philosophy of the school will be inaugurated on April 26. “We have organised a special event on April 26 which marks the end of our centenary year celebration. We will release a souvenir and also revamp our website on the day. But the biggest acknowledgement has come from the postal department which will unveil an envelop commemorating 100 years of our school,” said Sheth C N Vidyavihar Director T J Purani. It will be a 10X18 cm cover which will carry the symbol and a brief history of the prestigious school.
A GESTURE OF GRATITUDE
There was a post office on the school premises for 60 years. It was shifted last year in July. “India Post officials would often visit us. During one of the informal interaction, a senior official asked what his department could do for the school taking note of our contribution to society. It was then that we proposed the idea of the envelop and he readily accepted it,” said the director. “Gujarat High Court Justice and school alumnus Aquil Qureshi will be the chief guest on the occasion. Vadodara post master general will release the envelop,” he said.

Vimal Raval, director of computer centre, has designed the cover. “It shows the abundant opportunities and the school’s holistic approach for overall development of students. It also depicts the openness of the institution,” said Raval. Establsihed in 1912 by Sheth Chimanlal Nagindas, C N Vidyavihar is the largest Gujarati medium school in Gujarat which has 14 various institutions on its campus. Fondly called as CN, the school emphasises the need to promote Gujarati. The school has an illustrious past as it has produced several professionals who have made it big in their respective fields.
