The dreams to work as an Oracle specialist abroad have been put on hold. For, the eight students of a city-based institute are still waiting for their Oracle certification for the past nine months.
Rajasthan-based students, Rahul Bhandari and Arvind Lakahra, along with six other students, had enrolled in a certificate course on Oracle at one Prakshal Infotech on Satellite Road. Prakshal Infotech, claimed of being affiliated with the Indian Institute of Hardware and Technology (IIHT), Bangalore, is involved in providing various certificate course in the city.
It had assured the students of providing them with certificate at the end of the course. According to the institute authorities, the certificate is suppose to be issued directly by the Oracle, but since the IIHT’s tie-up with Oracle has come to an end, it is unable to issue the certificates.
Both the students had paid a hefty amount of Rs 14,538 for the course. This apart, they were provided with old reference book, in-spite of paying for the new set of books. When asked, the students were told to enroll with yet another course at the institute.
Prakshal Infotech admin officer Hemant Seth accepted that the certicifates are yet to be received from IIHT as the institute’s tie-up with the Oracle has been expired, and further said that the institute is trying to get in touch with the Oracle to get the pending certificates of all the students. “We are hoping to get the results by September 15,” he added. However, the institute director Kalpesh Seth was not available for comment.
