Reservation charts to carry names of TTEs

To ensure passengers’ a hasslefree journey, the Railway Board has issued a fresh direction, making the names of Train Ticket Examiners (TTE) in the reservation charts mandatory. The board has asked all chief commercial managers of zonal railways to implement the order soon.
 The presence of ticket checking staff wearing proper uniform and identity badge has been made compulsory in coaches to provide guidance and assistance to the passengers on-board.
“In order to enable passengers to locate ticket checking staff in case of need, it has been decided that the names of the TTE, conductors and other staff responsible for manning the coaches shall be printed on the respective reservation charts of coaches through the PRS the train originating station,” said Ahmedabad Railway Division Senior Commercial Manager Dinesh Chanchodia.
“The direction has come after several instances where passengers seeking guidance could not be able to locate the ticket checking staff. A TTE’s presence around ensures passengers all help. Now, whenever a traveller will make a complaint, it will also carry the name of the TTE. The chart will also carry the names of the attendant,” he said.
According to sources, railway Board has asked Zonal Railways to issue suitable instruction for ensuring the above system. “Instructions should also be issued that the names of the outstation TTE and conductors manning the coaches may be obtained by the train originating station and incorporated in the reservation charts through PRS. The printing of reservation charts should not be delayed,” the board instructed.

THE DIRECTION
 In case of a last minute change, the TTE/ conductor should make necessary correction in the chart by writing his name and designation on the chart.
