Pharma, software jobs for C U Shah students

As many as 82 students of C U Shah Science College were offered good pay packages

Nearly 82 TYBSc students of C U Shah Science College have been selected for jobs in companies like BioCon, Tata Consultancy Services, Zydus Cadila, Anil Group of Companies, Meghmani Chemicals and Finar Chemicals. As many as 163 students are appearing for the placement process that will be on till all the students are placed.
BioCon, which is looking for medical representatives, offered a salary of Rs 2.16 lakh to Rs 2.4 lakh per annum. Tata Consultancy Services shortlisted students for networking and hardware department and made an offer of Rs 1.83 lakh per annum. The company’s learning programme – Ignite – facilitates a successful transition for science graduates to the software industry through learning and transformation.
Another company, Dhanush Agrotech, had called students for interviews at their headquarters and shortlisted 12 candidates. After the students agree to the job offer they will be given appointment letters.
Meghmani Chemicals selected candidates for their quality control department. During the first six months of probation, the students will be paid Rs 5,700 per month. They will also have access to medical assistance and free transportation service.
Pharma giant Zydus Cadila, which is looking for apprentices, selected several students from the college. If their performance is found to be satisfactory, the students will be taken on the company’s payroll.
Placement officer Jigar Shah said, “We are doing our best to ensure BSc students get access to good job opportunities. In the past, we have had IBM, Infosys and Torrent Pharmaceuticals visiting our campus. We have conducted several training programmes in personality development, group discussion and spoken English for the students. Before the placements began, we also conducted mock interview sessions for them.”
Principal Anita Gharekhan said, “Students think that there aren’t many job opportunities after graduation. “But several companies require staff for data entry work and research analysis. They hire fresh graduates for good salaries and train them accordingly.”
