GTU to award the best educationist

University is the first to announce such an award to improve quality of education

The Gujarat Technological University has become the first university in the state to award its teachers and prinicipals for and their contribution to the education system. The university has announced that it will award the best teachers and principals from colleges under its aegis.

To encourage teachers
There will be three awards each for best teacher in Diploma and degree and postgraduate colleges in engineering of Rs 41,000, Rs 31,000 and Rs 21,000. One award each will be given to teachers of pharmacy, MBA and MCA faculty.
“There are teachers and principals who want to deliver quality education. However, they are not getting proper encouragement. We have introduced these awards in order to encourage the teachers and principals and thus improving the quality of education,” said Akshai Aggarwal, vice chancellor, GTU.

Nominations invited
This awards will be given in September 2011. The selections of teachers and principals for the award will be done through self-nomination or recommendation from students and other faculty members.
