There was a time when job advertisements would carry a note alongside saying Gujarat University students need not apply. Now we know why.A series of advertisements issued by the Gujarat University highlighting its recent achievements under vice-chancellor Parimal Trivedi’s leadership has such bloopers that they can only evoke laughter and embarrass those associated with the university. While spelling mistakes are nothing new to advertisements, the GU ads have far too many to be put down to oversight. For instance, ‘business’ has been misspelt in three different ways — buisness, bussiness and BISSINESS. The last of the misspelt ‘businesses’ is most embarrassing because it appears in an advertisement calling for applications for admission to a business school run by the university. Well, they should list courage as one of the qualifications. You would require loads of it when seeking admission to B K SCHOOL OF BISSINESS.
