CBSE Class X: City girls outshine boys

The Central Board of Secondary Education declared its Class X results for Chennai, Panchkula and Ajmer regions on Tuesday. Shubham Luhadi of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Vadodara (ONGC) topped the state list with 96.6 per cent marks.
He was recently sent to a Youth Exchange Programme in Japan by the Ministry of Human Resource Development. “Shubham scored 483 out of 500. He has always been a topper. The family has now shifted to Hyderabad since his father got transferred there,” said school principal D K Gupta.
Of the 2,608 students of 44 Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) in the state, 2,515 cleared the exam. The state has more than 25 private CBSE schools. Mekhla Kar of Rachna School and Divy Thakkar of Delhi Public School, Bopal, topped Ahmedabad city with 96.4 per cent. Rajshekhar Das of Rachna School stood third at 96.2 per cent. Rachna School recorded 100 per cent results. Of the 91 students who appeared for the exam, 83 got distinction, five obtained first class.
Among the KVs in the city, KV SAC and KV Sabarmati recorded 100 per cent results. More than 55 per cent students at KV SAC scored above 75 per cent marks. Amrita Balachandran was the school topper with 94.2 per cent.
Kendriya Vidyalaya Shahibaug recorded 98 per cent results. Archita Bhagya was the school topper with 95.8 per cent. At KV Cantonment, 106 out of 124 students cleared the exam. Jagruti Dhadicha was the topper with 90.8 per cent. KV ONGC recorded 98 per cent result. Astha Jha topped with 93.2 per cent.
Rohit Jain topped KV Sabarmati with 89 per cent marks.Prakash School, DPS Bopal and Maharaja Agrasen Vidyalaya too recorded 100 per cent results.At Prakash School, 86 per cent students got a distinction; Shreya Saha was the school topper with 96 per cent marks. Shefali Agva topped Maharaja Agrasen Vidyalaya with 95.83 per cent. The school had a record 93 per cent students obtain distinction this year.
This time, in Ajmer division, 87,088 had appeared for the exams — 52250 boys and 34,838 girls — of which 81,894 students cleared the exam. As many as 48,629 boys and 33,355 girls cleared the exam. Nearly 4,702 students failed in one subject. Ajmer region recorded 94.14 per cent results for CBSE Class X.
