More than 22,000 unclaimed degree certificates have piled up over the past five years on Gujarat University’s desks as the graduates have not bothered to collect them yet. These include certificates of external students who either failed to collect their documents at the convocation or requested their degrees be sent by post but provided incomplete or inaccurate addresses. All you have to do to avail yourself of this scheme is to fill up the examination form, hand back your degree to the university and give an undertaking that the new result will be considered final. GTU 461 Colleges, 5L Students, but only 14 admin staff

GTU, which has 5 lakh students studying in 461 affiliated colleges, has been functioning with only 14 officials, thanks to its ego tussle with state government. The varsity operates without more than 400 key officials including registrar, controller of exams and chief accountant. While GTU has been without a permanent registrar for nearly three years now, it has never had a controller of exams; it is the deputy registrar who handles both the key posts.
